Broadening global awareness of Huntington's disease and Juvenile Huntington's disease
WeHaveAFace.org aims to broaden global awareness of Huntington's disease and Juvenile Huntington's disease. Our success in increasing awareness and education of this disease will continue to be measured by our ability to embrace and utilize various state-of-the-art technologies: international videos, films, radio shows, mobile applications, electronic publications, accredited training, social media networking, and now WeHaveAFace TV. WeHaveAFace will move our mission forward to close gaps in education and services and provide support to our international Huntington's community. It is also paramount that we educate the general public.
WeHaveAFace is the premier international multimedia advocacy organization for Huntington's disease and Juvenile Huntington's disease. The Board of Directors, Advisors, and Advocates of WeHaveAFace.org are unpaid volunteers. The decision to remain as an unpaid, volunteer-only organization was to ensure that our priorities remain focused on allocating 100% of donations to our Huntington's and Juvenile Huntington's community via education, and resources, through our program suite. WeHaveAFace.org is a registered 501(c)(3) national nonprofit organization.
As per the National Council of Nonprofits: "Most people recognize that the vast majority of board members of charitable nonprofits are unpaid volunteers. Historically, the structure of charitable nonprofits in America has placed sizable responsibilities on board members. Board members often have full-time jobs, families, busy professional lives but are also tasked with legal obligations as fiduciaries to ensure that the nonprofit’s assets serve the nonprofit's mission and benefit the public - not private interests. Board members provide policy oversight and often visionary leadership for entire communities while cheerleading for the nonprofit’s mission with donors, potential donors, other volunteers, policymakers, and clients/consumers of the nonprofit’s services. And the expectation is that that they do all this as volunteers."
*As of January 2020, WeHaveAFace has successfully provided this accredited training program to hundreds of medical professionals. We look forward to broadening the HD-3 Training Program into the future.*
