Jon of the Shred
Composer of: "The Dark Cabal Decays"

How long have you been writing/playing music?

I started playing guitar in the 6th grade, and later picked up piano, bass, and
a number of other musical instruments. I am self-taught, save a few guitar
lessons that got me started.

Do you create all of your graphics/images?

I also create all my graphics and design my own web-sites, as well as
doing hand-drawn art as well.

How did “Jon of the Shred” come about?  What is the meaning behind
the name?

I wrote a satirical zombie rock-opera / musical comedy film, kind of a mix of
George A. Romero's "Dawn of the Dead" and "This Is Spinal Tap." Jon of the
Shred was a play on both cheesy 80's horror movie and heavy metal music.

Tell the listeners what inspires you.

Music is an escape from reality, an outlet one can tap into to forget their
problems and enjoy something on a different level of the psyche then what
is normally celebrated in most formal settings. I like to tell a story through
the instruments, to provide some level of escape for both myself and any
listeners. It is also very rewarding and humbling to be able to donate my
time and creations to charitable events, be it in performing in a live setting
or the awesome opportunity to let my music be used in the trailer for your
upcoming documentary.
